Linking footy & family history

Adam Goodes & Prime Minister Tony Abbott
This week's episode of the family history tv series - 'Who do you think you are?' features - Adam Goodes, as he seeks to uncover his Aboriginal heritage.
Adam was born on 8th January,1980 in South Australia. He attended the Merbein West Primary School, then his family moved south to Horsham, where he played high school football, representing Victoria in the Under16s & Under18s sides. At 16 played with in the VFL for the North Ballarat Rebels in a premiership.
 Adam became an AFL player and joined the Sydney Swans in 1997. While at the Swans he has won the Brownlow Medal in 2003, and again in 2006. He was part of the Swans premiership side in 2005 and 2012. Adam has been a four-time All-Australian, a member of the Indigenous Team of the Century, and represented Australia in the International Rules Series. Finally he was presented with the 2014 Australian of the Year award.
'Who do you think you are?' is on SBS One on Tuesday 12th August at  7:30pm.
